Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has announced that he will confirm the new club captain on Monday.
Former captain Michael Dawson was sold to Hull City over the summer but up until now his centre back partner Younes Kaboul has been leading the team in his absence.
However it is believed that Pochettino doesn’t want to make Kaboul his permanent captain because the Frenchman is unlikely to be a regular starter in his first choice team.

The current front runners are thought to be Hugo Lloris, captain of France, and Aaron Lennon who is the current vice-captain, however the latter’s place is not guaranteed whereas Lloris is a certain starter each week.
Spurs have been rocked recently by the news that they will have to play one season away from White Hart Lane with rumours of a possible ground share with West Ham or Arsenal.
